Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Gala apples
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice (fresh or from concentrate)
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  • Wash, peel, core, and slice your apples (about 8 slices per apple).
  • Add apple slices, ground cinnamon, lemon juice, and water to the bowl of a crockpot.
  • Cover crockpot and cook on high for about 3 hours, or until the apples are soft and easy to mash. Stop once to stir apples halfway through cooking time.
  • Use a potato masher to mash apples to desired consistency (or carefully use an immersion blender for smoother applesauce).
  • Serve your applesauce warm or cold and enjoy! Recipe makes around 3 cups of applesauce.
