Easy Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting

This rich and creamy chocolate cream cheese frosting is made easily with only a few ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 ounce block of cream cheese, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Add butter and cream cheese to a large mixing bowl. Use an electric hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with paddle attachment to blend on medium speed for 3-4 minutes, until well combined.
  • Scrape down bowl with rubber spatula, then add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract.
  • Mix on low speed (stopping halfway through to scrape down bowl) until all ingredients are incorporated and frosting is smooth. Frosting will cover 12-18 cupcakes, depending on how thick they are frosted. Make sure to refrigerate any leftovers!
